Scope: Constructed in the mid 1900’s, Koki is a multi-storey brick & concrete alpine lodge. Extensive renovation of the building was completed to develop several luxury apartments.
Design Highlights: Removal of load-bearing masonry walls supporting concrete & masonry above required careful design and detailing to ensure deflection & damage to the existing brittle structure was minimised
Design Considerations: Having already undergone previous extensions and renovations, KUSCH completed detailed structural condition assessments to ensure the existing structure could support the new design loads.
