Prefabricated Services Bridge

Scope: KUSCH was engaged by AG Coombs to design a prefabricated pipe bridge to support services travelling between the new central energy building and the main production facility of a large pharmaceutical facility.
Design Achievements:
- Prefabrication allowed the structure and services to be installed within a day.
- Significant reduction in construction time and WHS risks.
Design Considerations:
- Conventional construction of this elevated structure was going to require significant work at height around lifted loads.
- Differential movements and forces associated with both chilled water and high-temperature steam pipes, differential movements between buildings, as well as gravity, wind, seismic and lifting loads.
